Over the past two years, artists have been working with eight different communities across Canada (Vancouver, Victoria, Whitehorse, Calgary, Regina, Toronto, Montreal and Fredericton) on the Climate Play project. In each of the communities, artists learned the techniques of verbatim theatre, conducted interviews with community members about climate change, turned those interviews into an early play, workshopped the play for a week, and held a public reading of the work created. Our next step is creating a national play bringing voices from across the county together. We can’t wait to tell you more.
